We are deeply sorry to share the sad news that a beloved member of our community, Isaiah O’Kane, Hunter ’17, died today from a serious subway accident that occurred on Saturday. We all mourn this untimely passing of a wonderful young man.
We will update you as soon as we have any further information regarding a funeral or memorial service. We will also provide information on how to share your condolences with his family.
Isaiah was a graduate of Beacon High School and a member of Professor Krumholz’s Seminar One class. The performance of the play “Meet Me at Facades,” in which Isaiah was a cast member, is cancelled tomorrow night, December 9. It was in activities such as these that Isaiah shared his artistic talent and sharp wit.
Isaiah was an admired and respected member of our community. There are counselors and advisors at the Brookdale campus if you would like to speak with someone about this tragedy. After conferring with Isaiah’s family, we will reach out to the community to discuss the appropriate way to remember and celebrate Isaiah.
