Family chef bows to peer pressure and prepares two kinds of latkes. Here’s my annotated menu. Happy Thanksgiving!

Meatballs (Lois’ famous recipe)

Garlic knots (only in NYC where pizza dough is available on every corner)

Crudities (so I can devour the hummus)

 ~~~~~~~~~
Roasted cauliflower/baby arugula/radicchio with smoked salmon on 7 grain bread
 ~~~~~~~~~~

carrot soup/potato crisps (memories of Sea Cloud voyage, circa 1992)

~~~~~~~~~~~
TURKEY (actually two turkeys, since we are 24 at table)
Turkey giblet gravy (same recipe clipped from Gourmet, circa 1974)
 Sweet potato latkes (adapted from Elisabeth’s championship on CHOPPED!)
Latkes (tried and true)
Farro with acorn squash and kale (have you ever peeled an acorn squash?  WORKOUT)
Roasted endive (for the folks who ate the crudities above)
Brussel sprouts (thanks Carie for an hour of cleaning)
Truffled green beans with crispy shallots (still good sans creme fraiche for kosher)
Wild mushroom pierogies (killer in all ways)
Cranberry From A Can (Harold insists on Ocean Spray)
~~~~~~~~~~

Blackout Chocolate cake

Raspberry linzer cookies, sandheart cookies

Lemon tart

Apple pie
