Super Bowl Sunday conflict

Where we sat at Super Bowl XLIISuper Bowl XLII

I can’t go on record with a choice between the Steelers and the Cardinals.

When I worked at the NFL, the Steelers were always one of my favorite teams, something to do with an admiration for old Rust Belt cities like Pittsburgh remaking themselves, and also affection for Dan Rooney and his family.? Working with them on the Steelers-Bears game in Dublin’s Croke Stadium was one of the highlights of my five NFL seasons.

But the Cardinals!? A Cinderella story!? And the stadium is named for University of Phoenix, a place I’m connected to
through my service as an Apollo board member….and home of last year’s greatest game ever.? I sat THIS CLOSE to damn-the-man Plaxico Burris when he made that magic catch.?
